CSK's Struggles in IPL 2025

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India] - On May 3, ahead of their upcoming match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting coach Michael Hussey expressed confidence in his players despite their disappointing performance this season.

Under the leadership of MS Dhoni, CSK has only secured two victories, accumulating just 4 points from 10 matches in this year's tournament.

Unfortunately, the Super Kings have been ruled out of playoff contention due to their lackluster performance throughout the league. This marks the first instance in IPL history where the team has failed to qualify for the playoffs in consecutive seasons.

In a pre-match press conference, Hussey stated, “The squad is highly motivated. Some players will have the chance to prove themselves at this level. They take great pride in representing CSK, which has a massive fan base. The players are aware of their responsibilities and are committed to giving their all in every match.”

CSK is set to face RCB, led by Rajat Patidar, in the 52nd match of the IPL on Saturday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The five-time champions are currently struggling in IPL 2025, consistently finding themselves at the bottom of the standings, with their playoff hopes nearly extinguished.

In contrast, Royal Challengers Bengaluru is performing well, sitting third in the points table with seven wins and three losses from 10 matches, boasting a net run rate of 0.521. RCB recently achieved a significant victory over the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
